DD vs KKR: Daredevils win toss, ask KKR to bat

NEW DELHI: Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to bowl first against Kolkata Knight Riders in an Indian Premier League match here today.

Daredevils made two changes in their playing eleven from the last match, bringing in Ajit Agarkar and Tvais Birt in place of Matthew Wade and Ashok Dinda.

For the Knight Riders, pace spearhead Brett Lee made his return into the team along with Ryan ten Doeschate and Sreevats Goswami. Brad Haddin, Shakib Al Hasan and Manvinder who were left out from today's playing eleven.

Teams: Delhi Daredevils: Virender Sehwag (capt), David Warner, Yogesh Nagar, Naman Ojha, Y Venugopal Rao, Irfan Pathan, James Hopes, Morne Morkel, Ajit Agarkar, Umesh Yadav, Travis Birt.

Kolkata Knight Riders team: Gautam Gambhir (capt), Jacques Kallis, Sreevats Goswami, Manoj Tiwary, Yusuf Pathan, Eoin Morgan, Ryan ten Doeschate, Iqbal Abdulla, Jaydev Unadkat, Laxmipathy Balaji, Brett Lee.

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Daredevils by 17 runs in an Indian Premier League match at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground in New Delhi on Thursday.

Earlier, Manoj Tiwary played a crucial knock of unbeaten 61 runs to rescue Kolkata Knight Riders against Delhi Daredevils.

Kolkata Knight Riders: 148 for seven in 20 overs (Manoj Tiwary 60 not out, Sreevats Goswami 22; Umesh Yadav 2/29).

Delhi Daredevils: 131 for nine in 20 overs (Virender Sehwag 24, James Hopes 25; Iqbal Abdulla 3/25, Laxmipathy Balaji 2/38).

Kolkata scored 148/7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs.

Put into the bat, Kolkata lost Jacques Kallis early but Gautam Gambhir and Manoj Tiwary (18)c onsolidated the innings.

For Delhi, Umesh Yadav took two wickets while Ajit Agarkar, Irfan Pathan, Morne Morkel and James Hopes scalped one wicket each.

DD vs Delhi Daredevil skipper Virender Sehwag won the toss and invited Kolkata Night Riders to bat.

After winning the toss, Sehwag said, “In the last game our bowling was not upto the mark and in this game we would try to restrict Kolkata early and chase the target.

Sehwag further said that he and Warne could chase any total if they click.

Delhi has made couple of changes in the side, Ajit Agarkar and Travis Birt are included in the playing XI. Mathew Wade and Ashok Dinda are out.

On the other hand, Kolkata has also made three changes. Brett Lee, Ryan ten Doeschate and Sriwats Goswami are in.
