Wes Welker used a Thursday press conference to rip New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan over his apparent foot fetish. The Jets, specifically Ryan and Antonio Cromartie, have been trash talking New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady the last two weeks, and Welker returned the favor. He made 11 "foot" references in all.
"These are the games you play for. What you spend all year getting ready for and you just want to put your best foot forward," Welker said with a straight face. He also said that Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis and Patriots teammate Deion Branch have "great feet." Although it's not a certainty that the Patriots receiver was taking shots at Ryan's foot fetish, evidence strongly suggests that his words were intentional.
