Actress Deepika Padukone has had a great start to 2011. She took off for a much deserved vacation at the start of the year and brought in her birthday with her parents as she extended her vacation plans. The actress, who is an adrenaline junkie, tried her hand at sky-diving and scuba-diving last year. This year, she plans to fulfill her dream of going bunjee jumping. “I have always wanted to do this and I honesty didn’t think it would happen within a month from each other. Though I am petrified of heights, I have no clue how I managed to do the sky dive. Next up on my list is a bungee jump,” she smiles.
The dimpled beauty who is always pitted against actresses Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif says that being the number one heroine is not the only thing that interests her. “Yes, numbers do make a difference but that is not the only thing that matters. When I am doing a shot, I don’t think about director Vishal Bhardwaj signing me for his next film or if Aamir (Khan) will take me in his next film. When you are doing a scene you are just there, giving your 100%. As long as I am honest to my work, being professional and enjoying my work, everything else will follow. As for reaching the top — everybody aims to be there someday but I am not working only to reach to the top.”
But she certainly can be one of the top heroines endorsing a lot of products. Padukone, who is the face of a lot of brands, says she only endorses brands that she either uses or likes. “For me, the first criteria is the credibility of a brand. It has to be something I identify with and believe in,” she ends.
