Mega millions winning numbers

megamillions050310_optThe 12th Mega millions lottery drawing since the last ticket with all six numbers takes place tonight at about 11:00 p.m. Tonight's jackpot will be $145 million, the largest it has been since May. The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 175,711,536, according to the Mega Millions website.
According to the Los Angeles
Daily News, mathematicians have long said there is no advantage to purchasing a ticket at an outlet where previous big-money winning tickets have been sold. The odds of a big-money winning ticket sold at a particular outlet is wholly dependent on the number of tickets sold there. Lotterypost.com reports legislation that would allow people to buy New Jersey lottery tickets on the Internet and by other electronic means is continuing to advance in the state Assembly. The Regulatory Oversight and Gaming Committee approved the measure this month and referred it to the chamber's Appropriations Committee. The legislation would require state lottery officials to implement a system that would allow people to buy tickets via the Internet, e-mail, text messaging or other electronic methods.
The last Mega Millions winner was more than a month ago, yet unclaimed, when someone in Ohio won $25-million. According to megamillions.com, the last Mega million winners from New Jersey were Linda and John Feeney of Passaic County of the $12 million jackpot from the drawing held on September 25, 2007. The Feeneys came forward at Fontantarosa's Grocery & Deli to stake their claim to their lottery jackpot.
